Come? Un topo!

Quiz for our readers: what is being "re-worded" below:

X: What wilst thou make or cause, to perform or carry out? thou wilst not kill me unlawfully and with malice? Assistance, assistance, ho!
Y: What, ho! Assistance! Assistance! Assistance!
Z: How now! Any of several kinds of black, brown or grey, long-tailed rodents, resembling, but larger than, the mouse? No longer living, for a coin of silver, no longer living!
Y: O, I am killed by violence!

Prize for the first to answer: a one year supply of veeta-vita-veja juice!

I could tell you, but I would need a three year supply of veeta-vita-veja juice.

Suffice to say, we are back on the time question:

veeta(803474)
Time destroys everything
We are the mindless drones of the world

Woody has it! Umberto Eco went through those lines and substituted dictionary definitions for key words. The goal was to dispute Jakobsen's contention that re-wording is a form of translation -- a "translator" would not get paid for transporting that version of the play into another language.
